Our unique process is ideal for all area of Car Restoration and Preparation. Whether you have a Classic which is being returned to its former glory or you need your car to be specially treated for race / rally use, Surface Processing Ltd has a solution for you.
Our unique range of processes enable us to remove 100% of paints, lacquers, grease, sealants, adhesives or underseal from a simple nut and bolt right up to a complex car body shell, effectively removing rust and scale and breaking down filler without attacking the surface of the substrate in any way.
Once cleaned the shell or panels are then electrophoretically primed i.e. It is further treated and conditioned before being zinc phosphated and then immersed in a bath of paint with a cathodic (electrical) charge applied. Not only is the paint bonded to the panel faces it also drawn into the seams and recesses of the shell providing far superior coverage than is attainable with a spray gun. Once the excess paint is rinsed off it is then passed through an oven at around 180 deg C for around an hour. This ensures that the paint is fully cured and that any moisture within the shell is driven off. The time savings can be immense - no more bead blasting damaging body panels - no more stressful hours scraping off underseal, rubbing down rust and welding through toxic sealants - worse still if your paying someone to do it!
Our unique process for car shells can also be applied to the restoration of individual panels and the refurbishment of wheels. We have even developed a process for dealing with plastics.
The process has been specifically developed to provide a consistent method for the removal of paint, underseal, lacquer, corrosion, scale, grease and other organic contaminants and coatings from a wide range of substrate materials. The processes are designed to produce a stable finish on all materials and are very different to electrolytic systems widely used for plating and other coating systems. This process provides a far superior finish to that of other stripping methods and does not in anyway attack the substrate surface.
Our unique process is able to remove all paint, sealants, adhesives, noise reduction materials and underseals. In addition it effectively removes rust and breaks down filler without attacking the surface of the mild steel in any way. After the contaminants are removed the shell is then completely passivated and neutralised leaving the client with a clean mild steel shell. This provides the perfect start for any rebuild or restoration. Any welding can be done without the complications encountered with the adhesives and paint, and, any extensive corrosion damage or earlier repairs are clearly identifiable.
